Why Give ?
“Saratoga Schools” It’s the catchphrase on most real estate ads in Saratoga and one of the key reasons families move here. A house in the Saratoga school district is prized real estate.
Surprisingly, California ranks 46th in the country in per pupil spending. Our per pupil spending is less than many of our neighbors, including Los Altos, Menlo Park, Los Gatos and Portola Valley. So, how does Saratoga maintain consistently high API scores? Why is the education here so good?
One reason is because Saratoga parents have a heritage of funding salaries and enrichment programs through donations to SEF. For over 25 years, these programs have made up the deficit in State budget while helping differentiate Saratoga schools. The result: a well-rounded educational experience.

Each year, over 70% of families participate; providing SUSD with approximately 8% of its annual school budget. The 2007-2008 grant to the school district was $1,188,000.
Help continue this strong tradition of supporting education in Saratoga.
