Paper Scrip FAQs

What is it?

Only Marina Foods will be included in 2008-2009 SEF’s scrip program.  This market does not accept electronic eScrip, but DO accept paper scrip and will contribute 6% of your purchases to SEF!

How does the paper scrip program affect the current eScrip program?

The current eScrip program remains unchanged.  There are some stores that do not participate in the current electronic e-scrip program, but who accept paper scrips only such as Marina Foods.

When should I use paper scrip and when should I use eScrip?

For purchases at Marina Foods, use paper scrips.  For others eScrip merchants, continue to use the existing eScrip program.

What are paper scrips and how are they used?

Paper scrips work like cash, but can only be used at the designated store.  For example, scrips from Marina can only be used at Marina.  You pay the cashier paper scrips when you check out.  You get scrips or cash back if the change is under $10.  For example, if your purchases total $65.30, and you turn in $70 worth of scrips, you get $4.70 scrips or cash back. You are still entitled to the same discount and food coupon rebates offered by each store.

Why doesn’t SEF offer scrips from other stores?

SEF has decided to offer paper scrips from just 1 store this year to reduce maintenance overhead.

How to order?

Contact Deborah Fong at (408) 667-9368 or email our paperscrip co-ordinator with your order info or order online

Or, place completed order form and check (payable to SEF) in “SEF Paper Scrip” envelope at your school office.

How much can I order at a time?  Is there a minimum order requirement?

These paper scrips come in $100 packets (ten $10 coupons), so you have to order in multiples of $100.  We encourage you to order in large quantities to help reduce the workload on the paper scrip volunteer team. There is no expiration date for these scrips.  So be sure to order extras in case you run out!

What kind of payment is accepted?

By cash or check (payable to SEF).

Are scrips tax-deductible?

No.
