Who is Electronic Scrip Inc.? Isn't Safeway running the eScrip
program?
Electronic Scrip Incorporated (ESI) is a California-based corporation
providing a linkage between business and the community. They provide
registration, sales tracking and reporting, and send the merchant
donations to participating non-profit organizations. ESI earns money
by both collecting the $10 annual registration fee and receiving
payments from participating merchants for providing the above services.
Safeway is only one of several local merchants participating in
the eScrip program and is the first to eliminate its traditional
paper Scrip program.
Who should use eScrip?
eScrip is perfect for occasional shoppers at participating merchants
and friends and family members that otherwise wouldn't use paper
Scrip.
Why should I use paper Scrip at Safeway?
SEF earns more contribution on the old paper Scrip program and purchased
a large quantity of paper Scrip for families to use for the next
few months, or while supplies last.
When should I begin to use eScrip instead of paper Scrip?
Now is perfect time for friends, family and household members not
currently using paper Scrip and for your purchases at merchants
not participating in the SEF paper Scrip program. When SEF runs
out of paper Safeway Scrip, you should convert to the eScrip program
for Safeway purchases.
How does SEF benefit from eScrip?
Longer term, SEF will increase revenue from eScrip as more families
will likely participate in eScrip than the paper Scrip program.
It will also reduce the massive administrative workload on the paper
Scrip volunteer team.
How do I register?
Step One: Complete the attached form Step Two: Write a check to
ESI for $10 Step Three: Return both the completed registration form
and check in the attached envelope. Step Four: You will be notified
by mail when your cards have been registered and are ready for use
in the eScrip program.
Is it safe to give ESI my credit card number?
ESI commits to protect ALL customer information provided. Your registered
card numbers will be kept confidential by ESI and will be disclosed
by ESI only to participating merchants, eScrip program processors,
or as otherwise required by law. ESI will not license, sell, exchange,
or distribute any personally identifying information about eScrip
participants to any third parties not directly involved in the eScrip
program.
How will I know how much I have contributed to the eScrip
program?
You will receive a regular summary report showing your eScrip program
transactions and the amount contributed by the merchants to SEF.
SEF will receive will receive a monthly, consolidated report showing
the amount contributed in your name.
Can I split my donations among more than one organization?
Yes, for an additional annual fee of $5 per organization you can
designate up to three organizations. Purchases and donations will
be split equally among them.
SEF is a non-profit organization which is exempt
from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code. SEF also qualifies as a designated beneficiary of
United Way contributions. |
