About SEF

What is Saratoga Education Foundation?

About Chart Saratoga Education Foundation is a non-profit registered charity
(EIN No. 94-2853969). SEF is 100% volunteer run – there are no paid employees.

Founded in 1982 by Saratoga parents and community members, SEF’s ongoing focus is promoting a quality and balanced educational experience for the children in the Saratoga Union School District.

As difficult as it may be to believe, each and every school year, there is inadequate state funding for California schools (including the Saratoga Union School District) for programs like music, art, computer instruction and curriculum enhancing science programs, plus counselors and PE.

Saratoga Education Foundation believes that the whole child is nurtured and developed with programs such as these. Our annual goal is to raise funds from our parents and community to enable the Saratoga Union School District to provide these types of programs to Saratoga children.

A more detailed explanation of why giving is important can be found here. More information on what programs are funded by the SEF grant can be found here.

Which schools are supported by SEF funding?
